High Reflection Tuners

Focus manufactures single probe high VSWR tuners (option –HR) for frequencies in the 0.8 to 6 GHz range. Single probe tuners are smaller, lighter and less expensive than dual probe prematching tuners (PMT). The obtainable VSWR is not as high as with PMT’s (60:1-70:1 versus 150:1) but, for many applications, this is is sufficient. In particular for on-wafer applications the size of a PMT may cause concerns. Focus uses HFSS designed, optimized and specially coated probes and slabline structures for the high VSWR tuners, which allow approximately twice the VSWR value of standard coaxial slabline and probe structures. The high VSWR tuners provide excellent accuracy and continuous high reflection coverage over the 0.8 to 2 GHz and 2 to 6.5 GHz bands.
