The Model 1171T-4000-1030 is a ruggedized, compact solid state pulsed Amplifier/Transmitter designed primarily for IFF applications requiring reliable state of the art high power amplifiers. Its minimum output power is 4000W (66dBm) and is adjustable in three increments. Common usage of the amplifier is in Secondary Surveillance Radar (SSR) applications. The unit operates in IFF Modes 1, 2, 3/A, 4 and Mode S. The spectrum mask meets ICAO specifications.
Standard features of the transmitter include PPM modulation, internal frequency source, pulse shaping circuits, sample ports (forward power) and protection circuitry. An internal capacitive bank provides low output droop over extended pulse widths (< 1dB for 32s pulse). Input pulse modulation is accomplished through TTL compatible level signals. Optional features include DPSK modulation, serial interface and rack mounting.
