New versions (Version 23, Build 14885) of the Ampsa Amplifier Design Wizard (Ampsa ADW) and the Ampsa Matching Wizard (Ampsa MW) were released (see https://www.ampsa.com).
The Matching Wizard is used to solve user-defined matching problems and is based on systematic searches of the transformation Qs or the transmission phase shift. The fundamental-frequency and the second and third harmonic terminations at the insertion point for the matching network can be targeted. Points or circular areas can be targeted at the fundamental frequencies, while Smith chart sectors can be targeted at the second and third harmonics. Three-port couplers and splitters can also be designed with the MW.
The Amplifier Design Wizard is a superset of the MW. The focus in the ADW is on controlling the intrinsic load lines of an amplifier stage. The transistor models required can be fitted in the ADW. The models used are linear, but allows for gain compression and nonlinear output capacitance (Cds). The wizards have modern ribbon interfaces with tabbed views. Windows 10 and 11 are supported.
The artwork generated by the ADW and the MW can be exported in DXF format, as Sonnet Software (R) .son files or as Microwave Office (TM) basic scripts.
