3.5mm connectors are 50 ohm precision connectors designed to perform mode free to 34GHz. The outer conductor measures 3.5mm and the connector body wall is more robust than standard SMA connectors. The interface is air dielectric with the contact supported by a short dielectric bead. 3.5mm connectors are mechanically compatible with SMA and 2.92mm connector series, but the 3.5mm female contact is more robust than both the SMA and 2.92mm series due to a larger center contact diameter and thicker socket tine walls. PCI offers 3.5mm connectors for semi-rigid and low-loss flexible cable, receptacles and precision adapters which may be adapted for custom applications.
