HS Series encoders and decoders are designed to provide maximum security for Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) and remote control applications. The series consists of an encoder that will encode the status of up to 8 buttons or contact closures into a highly-secure encrypted transmission, and a decoder that will decode, authenticate, and replicate the button or contact states. The series uses CipherLinx®-encrypted remote control technology, which is based on a core algorithm developed by the United States National Security Agency (NSA) and is considered one of the most secure encryption algorithms available. One of the key features of CipherLinx® technology is that it will never send or accept the same packet twice. This alone makes it more secure than "rolling code" type devices, which could repeat packets multiple times. Furthermore, CipherLinx® changes codes on every packet, not just every button press. In addition to offering state-of-the-art security, the parts also offer innovative features, including up to 8 data lines, multiple baud rates, individual "button level" user permissions, an optional keypad PIN, encoder identity output, low power consumption, and easy "programming-free" setup.
