Existing repeaters use analog technology and typically only provide one channel for the forward path and one channel for the reverse path. To obtain significant adjacent channel rejection, the RF signal must be converted to a fixed Intermediate Frequency (IF). Thus, each channel in a traditional repeater requires a dedicated down converter, a dedicated IF filter, a dedicated up converter and a dedicated synthesizer. A traditional analog repeater uses a Local Oscillator (LO) having a resolution of 12.5 kHz to 200 kHz. This sets the channel resolution of the entire repeater.
With the development of mobile communication technology, more and more new communication technologies (like
3G&4G) will be adopted nowadays. Hence, telecom operators have to face the problem of re‐farming spectrum resource for
future. ELDAAS Indoor Pico/RF Repeater is an innovation technology, which is adopting SDR (Software Define Radio)
technology basis on FPGA & DSP (Digital Signal Processing) platform. It enables on‐the‐fly filter be changed/upgraded by
software without expensive hardware upgrading. It can support multi sub‐band/channel selective (bandwidth tunable).
